Communi-CRATE

Communi-CRATE

Description: The Communi-CRATE was developed for use in social care teams to enhance the way that children and young people in Sheffield's care system are listened to and have their views taken into account in any decision being made that affects their lives. The crate contains lots of tools and resources to enable effective participation to take place. Crates are specifically designed to best meet the needs of the ages or abilities each service is working with.

Year of production: The crate is a developing tool and is continually being updated.

 

Cost: £200 (plus post and packaging if outside of Sheffield)

One Page Profile Templates

One page profiles

Description: We have developed lots of fun and creative One Page Profile templates that you can add all your information to. They have been developed on Microsoft Word so they are really easy to use. There is a wide range of themes ranging from animals to mulit-coloured to rockets.

>>A Good Day/Bad Day poster is a really useful way to gather the information for 'what makes me happy' and 'how i like to be supported' sections of the profile.

 

Opinion Finder

Description: Opinion finders (also known as chatterboxes and fortune tellers) are a really versitie consultation techniuque. Based on an old school ground favourite this is a good way to break the ice and ask each other questions.

If You Listen To Me, I'll Listen To You

Description: A group of disabled and non-disabled primary school children have made an upbeat yet hard hitting film exploring the different ways in which we communicate with each other and the importance of finding ways to involve and listen to all children. An accompanying booklet supports the film, giving professionals more detail on the issues raised and practical ways of involving and listening to both disabled and non-disabled children.

It’s an excellent toolkit to have when planning any consultation.
