Communi-crate!

Description: This training is designed to support direct work with children and young people, for example for use in social care and MAST teams. The training covers how to use the CommuniCRATE to its full potential. It looks at the resources in detail and examines how each one could be used in different situations faced during direct work with children and young people.

Suitable for: All staff engaged in direct wotk with children and young people; particularly useful for social workers and MAST staff

One Page Profiles

Description: One page profiles are a great person centred involvement technique. The training includes opportunties to explore the benefits of one page profiles, covers how to creatively complete them with children and young people and shows how they can be made useful in your service

Suitable for: Practitioners working with children and young people

Duration: 1 hour, or can be combined with 'Including Children and Young people with Disabilities in Participation and Consultation' to make a half day session

Child Centred Reviews
Person centred review

Description: Child centred reviews ensure that everyone, including the child, has the opportunity to have their say. It puts the child at the centre of the meeting, giving the child ownership over decisions made about their life’s.

We train in person centred reviews for SEN and looked after children. The models have been developed from Helen Sanderson Associates.

Suitable for: Professionals responsible for looked after children reviews or SEN reviews

Description: Based on the 'If you listen to me, i'll listen to you' toolkit we have produced, the course explores different considerations when
communicating and making connections with disabled and non-disabled children and young people.

Suitable for: Anyone working with children who would like to use children's voices to shape their practice

Duration: 1 hour or can be combined with another of our half day sessions to make a full day

Participation and Consultation Techniques
Let's Get Everyone Involved

Description: Based on the 'Let's Get Involved' and 'Let's Get Everyone Involved' toolkits we have produced, our training programmes include background theory to involving children in your setting and presents a wide range of practical techniques to allow children to participate more easily in your setting.

Suitable for: Anyone working with children who would like to use children's voices to shape their practice

Duration: Half day, or can be combined with another of our half day sessions to make a full day

School Council Training

Description: Our staff have all succesfully completed the School Council UK 'Training the Trainer' course and are qualified to support and advise schools in the school council agenda. Whether you are starting a school council from scratch or simply want some advice and ideas to give your school council a lift, we are available to come into your school and support you.

Suitable for: Staff responsible for school councils in schools

Strategic Support

Description: As an active member of the Sheffield Multi Agency Participation (MAP) Group, we are able to support services in self-assessing themselves against the Sheffield Involvement Standards and can offer training and support to raise levels of participation within your organisation.
